Crazy

I had a pretty crazy day today. The VA always has some interesting things happen. My first patient kept hocking up his flem and spitting it in my suction. I'm pretty sure that this is NOT what the suction is for! It was kind of grossing me out. Then, my next patient got a little upset when I asked him about his home care and threatened to leave (I think, it was kind of hard to understand him because he kind of mumbled). However, the real kicker was when I tried to probe and told him I was going to measure his bone level, and that sent him over the edge. He jumped up (as fast as he could jump) out of the chair and swore at me. Then he told Prof. B that he wanted to leave and only Dr. Erickson could clean his teeth. Needless to say, it was pretty interesting! The rest of the day flowed a little smoother. Hopefully things aren't as chaotic next week!
